I have started this blog because the Beaumont Hospital system represents one of the few segments of the southeastern Michigan economy that is growing. However, with growth can come controversy. I will track the growth of Beaumont Hospitals, as well as any controversy that such growth engenders. I welcome comments to the blog, as well as any e-mails with tips or ideas.
I look forward to the discussion. . .

boy, have things changed since you wrote this post... do you work for Beaumont? If so, do you still have a job? I'm one of the more than 300 full time employees who were unceremoniously let go yesterday, and I am beyond mad as hell... I was let go, but an idiot who works with me and has longer hospital seniority (even though the policy allegedly changed recently, so that seniority is not the only consideration) is still there... someone with the professionalism of a four year old and the work ethic of a turd. Do I sound bitter? You bet I am... I got a lame answer from the HR rep and my manager when I asked why me... that place is beyond fucked up and is more than stupid top heavy with administrators... a recent corporate consultant (how much did THAT cost?) reportedly said the only other institution more top heavy is the government! So, the hospital lets talented people go (and I"m not referring to just me here, though I certainly include myself in that description), people who actually do the WORK at the hospital; and keeps idiots and too many administrators. They deserve to fail, all the while wearing that great big albatross around their metaphorical necks, the horribly expensive South Tower. Shame on the administrators at Beaumont Hospital.
